Pine Tree Hospice fall volunteer training begins Sept. 12

Throughout Piscataquis County and parts of Penobscot and Somerset, Pine Tree Hospice volunteers are quietly serving the non-medical needs of people in their homes and in long-term facilities. Our volunteers choose how, when, and who they assist while providing much needed support to isolated, ill, and taxed individuals and their caregivers.

Whatever life experiences and interests you have, our coordinator of Volunteers and Client Services can help you experience the joy of helping others within the limits you set. Volunteering may mean offering companionship while playing cards, transporting to local appointments or down “memory lane”, or providing respite for a caregiver.  Other Pine Tree Hospice volunteers choose committee work, community outreach, or assisting in the office which is vital to keeping the organization running smoothly.

Fall volunteer training class begins on Monday, Sept. 12 with a mix of classes in person at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church and online from the comfort of your home. Class subjects include hospice philosophy, ethics, spirituality, grief, and more. If you would be interested in learning more contact Pine Tree Hospice about this free series of classes. Call the office at 207-802-8078 or email coordinator@pinetreehospice.org for more information.
