CA Dean Bike and Boat draws cyclists from near and far to support local healthcare

GREENVILLE – After a two-year hiatus, Northern Light CA Dean Hospital’s Bike and Boat event returned on June 26, with great weather and lots of fellowship and fun. An incredible success, this year’s event raised more money and welcomed more new participants than any previous Bike and Boat event.

“We’re grateful to everyone who came out to enjoy the beautiful day, catch up with friends, and support the hospital,” says Marie Vienneau, FACHE, president, CA Dean Hospital. “We heard time and again how much participants enjoyed the event. The CA Dean team had a great time connecting with friends and meeting new participants from all over Maine and beyond.”

BIKE AND BOAT – Northern Light CA Dean Hospital’s Bike and Boat event returned on June 26 to the Greenville area, which included a cruise on the Steamboat Katahdin. The event raised $13,000 to support the CA Dean Hospital Greatest Needs Fund.

One of CA Dean’s two signature summer events, Bike and Boat began with a 19.5-mile bike ride from Greenville to Rockwood and concluded with a cruise back to Greenville on the historic Steamboat Katahdin. Participants enjoyed lunch and live music provided by the Joshua Guthrie Band on the boat ride.

The funds raised at this year’s Bike and Boat event will support the CA Dean Hospital Greatest Needs Fund. CA Dean Hospital, a nonprofit organization, relies on community support to meet its rural patient care mission. The event raised a total of $13,000.

Team Yogi won the award for the most funds raised for the event.

Preparations are already underway for next year’s Bike and Boat event which will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Registration will open for next year’s event in January 2023.
