LIMESTONE – Staff Sgt. Bobbie Pelletier of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office died Sunday after a snowmobile crash in Aroostook County, the department said.
The staff sergeant died after a “snowmobile accident” in Limestone, Sheriff Troy Morton said in a Facebook post on Sunday night. The office was not immediately releasing more details out of respect for Pelletier’s family, Morton said.
Pelletier had worked for the department since 2008 and supervised policing in Hermon at the time of his death under an agreement between Morton’s office and the town. He was promoted to corporal in 2015 and gained his staff sergeant rank in 2016.
“SSgt Pelletier will be sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers,” Morton said.
