Pony gridiron stars earn Class D honors

A week-plus after winning the Class D championship, members of the Foxcroft Academy football team received Class D postseason honors.

Pony senior quarterback/defensive back Austin Seavey was named the Class D Player of the Year.

Senior tackle/defensive end Anthony Smith earned Class D Lineman of the Year honors.

ALL NIGHT TO THROW — Senior quarterback Austin Seavey looks down the field where he and junior Caden Crocker connected on a 47-yard touchdown pass to give the Ponies a 34-6 advantage over Poland. Seavey was named Class D Player of the Year, and he and Crocker are two of the eight Ponies named to the All-Class D Team.

Danny White was announced as Class D Coach of the Year, and Gary Worthing was chosen as the Class D Assistant Coach of the Year.

The All-Class D First Team includes Foxcroft players Seavey at quarterback, Smith on both the offensive and defensive lines, junior wide receiver/safety Caden Crocker, senior running back/linebacker Jesse Drury, sophomore cornerback Jaydon Richard, and sophomore placekicker Kemsley Marsters.

The Second team includes senior wide receiver Gideon Topolski and junior offensive/defensive lineman DJ Scheel.

Seavey also earned All-Academic honors.
