At Home, Furniture, Appliance, and Bedding Chamber ribbon cutting Nov. 18

DOVER-FOXCROFT — In June, after 36 years, Dave’s World of Dover-Foxcroft announced the sale of the home and appliance portion of their company. Moving across the street to 27 Summer, the former Dover Auto Parts building, where they would focus solely on their heat pump business, which had experienced exponential growth, spurring expansion into Ellsworth, Windham, and Scarborough. They retained ownership and operation of the UScellular at 12 Summer, while leasing the remaining space to new owners Rick Dill and Wade Shaefer, and At Home, Furniture Appliance, and Bedding was born.

Rick and Wade met while working for Mainely Rent To Own in Lincoln in 2005. Wade was with the company since its establishment in 1993, and when the founding owners retired in 2016, he and Rick became business partners and purchased the company. For about 20 years, Mainely Rent To Own also had a location in Dover-Foxcroft and were engaged in the community until that location closed, so when Dave’s World was listed for sale, they were excited at the thought of doing business in Dover-Foxcroft again, confident it would be a good fit for their existing operation.
