REMEMBERING 90 YEARS LATER -- On Dec. 11 members of the Maine State Police, along with members of the Monson Historical Society, met at the Hillside Cemetery in Monson for an annual ceremony to place a wreath for troopers who have died in the line of duty. Trooper Frank C. Wing of Monson died on Aug. 19, 1928 in a motorcycle crash while on duty. Attending to honor Trooper Wing were, from left, Lt. Michael Johnston, Ret. Trooper Gerry LaPointe, Trooper Marc Poulin, Cpt. Adam Coover, Lt. Sean Hashey and Ret. Cpt. Matt Grant who is now the Dover-Foxcroft police chief. Representing the Monson Historical Society were Elaine Roberts, Marion and Colby Brown (who is a first cousin to Trooper Wing) and Wayne and Tootie Bennett.
