Our community is special because of the people

To the Editor;

In these challenging times we are all facing together, we can only offer our own unique perspective. As I face my second breast cancer diagnosis and treatment plan during COVID-19, I too struggle to find courage and strength to face the daily challenges in search of peace and joy.

One thing is certain, we live in this state of Maine, in a county and in a town. However, we also live in a “community.” What makes our community special is the people. Each one of us can share our resources, talents and love with our community.

So today and tomorrow and the next day, continue to make time in your day to do something typical or unusual for someone else in our community. Today is a gift. Let your faith in the promise of today be bigger than your fear. Be bold, be brave and do it from the heart because we are the “The Heart of Maine.”
