FA and PCHS represented at Class B indoor track championships

LEWISTON — Five Foxcroft Academy boys and one Piscataquis Community High School girl took part in the 2020 Class B indoor track and field championships on Feb. 15 at Bates College.

 

Foxcroft junior Logan Martin had the top individual finish from the Piscataquis County contingent by placing eighth in the long jump at a distance of 18 feet, 11.75 inches.

 

Martin was also 12th in the 55-meter prelims in a time of 7.03 seconds. Pony senior Hunter Clarke came in 13th in the 200 at 24.86 seconds. The two were part of the Foxcroft 4×200 relay with Martin, senior Cole Edgerly, sophomore Aidan Curry and Clarke placing 21st in a time of 1:46.16.

 

Foxcroft sophomore Jacob Reed tied for 10th in the high jump as he, Mountain Valley High School of Rumford freshman Robert Leveilee and Ellsworth High School freshman Drew Pierson all cleared the bar at a height of 5-06.

 

In the girls’ meet, PCHS freshman Molly Sipple finished 20th in the 55-meter prelims with her time of 8.45 seconds.

 

York High School and Brewer High School repeated as the respective boys and girls Class B champions. York, which claimed its sixth title in nine years, scored 51 points to edge the 46 for Greely High School of Cumberland and third place Ellsworth’s 41.

 

The Brewer girls earned 73 points to best the 50 for Winslow High School and 41.5 for York.
