Sangerville Public Library news

SANGERVILLE — On Feb. 5 the Sangerville Public Library hosted Chewonki’s StarLab at Piscataquis Community Elementary School for all fifth-graders. StarLab is a portable, inflatable planetarium that introduces features of the night sky and explains how stars are formed. It also shows us human history with the constellations above, from early mythological characters to modern navigation.

The presenter of StarLab was Kyle Wonser, and Wonser gave two showings. Approximately 50 children visited the StarLab — so thank you Wonser.

Remember, Sangerville Public Library is open for business. The library is open Mondays noon to 5 p.m., Tuesdays noon to 5 p.m., Thursdays noon to 5 and Fridays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Library cards are free to Sangerville residents and only $10 to out of town residents.

The library offers new books, DVDs, Wi-Fi, a safe place for your children and a warm, quiet place for you to sit and read. Some of our new books include “Hindsight” by Iris Johansen, “Moral Compass” by Danielle Steel and “Treason” by Stuart Woods. Some of our new DVDs include “Game of Thrones” season 8, “Gemini Man” and “Danger Close.” Come and visit us soon.

The Sangerville Public Library is located at 1 Town Hall Avenue.
