Gov. LePage endorses Thomas for Maine Senate

To the Editor;

Dear citizens of Senate District 4, I am endorsing the Hon. Doug Thomas for Maine Senate District 4. Thomas is an experienced legislator, having served in both the House and Senate. He owns and operates a small Maine business and understands the importance of keeping government small and affordable for the people of Maine.

As a legislator, he supported fiscally sound legislation and was consistently mindful of constituent needs before casting votes. The residents of District 4 will never have to worry that he would ever rubber stamp Democrat socialist policies in the Legislature or cave to Gov. Janet Mills. All too often once elected, legislators start to look out for themselves and their reelection instead of their constituents. We need fitore people who will fight against the liberal agenda in Augusta and not go along to get along, which happens all too often.

In my eight years as your governor, Thomas was always thoughtful and never afraid to discuss issues if he disagreed with my positions. One learns to respect such people who consistently stand for their principles and their constituents. I assure you, very few have this virtue. Thomas has it. The people of Senate District 4 are fortunate to have such a candidate.
