Growing Through Grief adult support group

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Growing Through Grief is one of Pine Tree Hospice’s bereavement programs for adults. The Growing Through Grief program begins with a facilitated grief support group which is then followed by a presentation or workshop and a delicious dessert.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18 Pastor Sue Burgess will discuss the spiritual aspects of grief. Through this presentation, people will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how spirituality can offer strength and support during times of grief. They will also learn how to support others during times of grief.

Knowing you aren’t alone and that there are others who share the pain of loss can be comforting; being able to talk about your pain can be very healing. Many people find comfort by sharing their feelings of pain, emotions and thoughts in a group setting, or just quietly listening. This facilitated grief support group is a place you may find solace.

Growing Through Grief meets on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, from 1-3 p.m. in Dover-Foxcroft.The grief support group, presentation and delicious dessert are free of charge. Participants must pre-register by calling Pine Tree Hospice at 207-564-4346.
