Shirley Bog Trail Busters trail report

SHIRLEY — Feb. 3: There was a lot of use of our trails during this past weekend/week. Our groomers were out over the weekend and spent multiple times grooming the trails. They are in good shape even with the little show that is under the trails. We also groomed the trail down the Ordway Pond Trail across the East Branch of the Piscataquis River. We unfortunately still can not groom three miles of the CCC Road for lack of snow, it is passable but rough.

We do have a nice parking facility for trailers if you need to trailer to start your ride. It is located just off of ITS 85 and the center of Shirley.

We would like to stress that we have active dog sled teams on our trails on the Clouse Allen/Bald Mountain/Taylor Road to Thanksgiving Pond Trails daily. Please slow down and show courtesy to these friends of the club. Use hand signals to let them know about sleds in your party. We also have many walkers/skiers on our By Pass trail. Please show the same respect for them. Enjoy your ride, slow down, be safe and use hand signals.
