Pony boys soccer defeats Dexter

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Foxcroft Academy boys soccer team defeated Dexter Regional High School 8-0 on Sept. 25.

The Ponies showed the team’s strength early on by scoring five minutes into the game. Senior Shadane Hamilton took a long pass from junior Austin Gil and had a break away. He beat the Tiger defense down the field. Hamilton went one on one with the Dexter keeper and beat him by putting the ball into the back of the net.

The Tiger defense adjusted and was able to slow down the Pony attack with the next scoring opportunities. Dexter loaded the box in front of their goal and Foxcroft had a hard time breaking in. Sophomore Danny Cornett was able to break the defense when he dribbled through it and scored inside the box, 25 minutes in. Then, 10 minutes later he did it again and broke through for his second goal of the game.
