Auditions for ‘Little Women’ at the Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT — To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Lousia May Alcott’s beloved book, the Center Theatre and the Slightly Off-Center Players will be performing the Broadway version of “Little Women” in December. They are inviting anyone who would like to be part of the Center Theatre’s production to the upcoming auditions.The auditions will be at the Center Theatre on Saturday, Sep. 21 from 3-6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 23 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

The production, directed by Derrick Bushmann and Deb Fournier, will have technical rehearsals the week of Dec. 9, with performances the evenings of Dec. 13, 14th, 20th and 21st and afternoon matinees on Dec. 14, 15th and 21st. The cast consists of six women, approximate ages 14 to 60 and four men approximately 18 to 60. All parts are being auditioned and other roles are also available in the chorus. Those auditioning should prepare a 1-minute piece to sing that demonstrates their vocal range. They can either sing something a cappella (without music) or bring accompanying music on CD. There will also be song samples available at the auditions.
