Lunch and Learn becomes Growing Through Grief

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Growing Through Grief is one of Pine Tree Hospice’s new adult bereavement programs and is taking the place of the former Lunch and Learn group. The “lunch” might be gone, but the support, delicious desserts and learning experiences continue. The Growing Through Grief program begins with a facilitated grief support group for adults which is then followed by a grief-related presentation or workshop.

The first Growing Through Grief group will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 1-3 p.m. in Dover Foxcroft. Creative play coach, life stress reduction facilitator and local artist Terri Kelley Palin will facilitate the workshop/presentation portion of the program and will be addressing “artful grief.” Allowing grief to be expressed through creative processes can be incredibly healing and fulfilling and may even open new channels of creativity.

Are you are grieving the death of a loved one? Whether your loved one died recently or in the past, we invite you to join the Growing Through Grief group and to explore ways to express yourself through artistic activities. No artistic skills are required.

Growing Through Grief will be meeting on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May from 1-3 p.m. in Dover-Foxcroft. The grief support group, presentation, and delicious dessert is free of charge. Participants must pre-register by calling Pine Tree Hospice at 564-4346.
