D-F American Legion Post 100th anniversary open house Sept. 9

DOVER-FOXCROFT — American Legion Post 29 would like to invite the general public to attend an open house on Monday, Sept. 9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chadboune-Merrill Post 29 in Dover-Foxcroft.

The main goal will not only to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Post 29, but also to honor all of the members who have served in the Post during the last century, said Post Adjutant Dennis Lyford .

Lyford added the program will feature a flag burning demonstration, photo display of Post 29, a film presentation of the founding members of the Legion Post 29 and a missing man ceremony as well as a BBQ.

The Legion would like to encourage all present and past Legion members and their families to attend, along with past and present members of the armed forces.
