Portalatin wins Beach to Beacon division

CAPE ELIZABETH — Rico Portalatin, 48 of Milo, won the men’s age 45-49 division at the 22nd annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K on the morning of Aug. 3.

Portalatin covered the 6.2 miles in a time of 35 minutes, 8 seconds to best 277 other runners in his age group. He also placed 111th overall out a field of 6,414 finishers.

Five other runners from the region took part. Casey Whittemore, 26 of Harmony was 3,540th at 60:30; Clint King, 38 of Dover-Foxcroft, was 3,818th at 61:57; Kacie Weymouth, 36 of St. Albans who teaches English/Language Arts at Dexter Regional High School, was 4,160th at 64:04; Jody Coy, 49 of Dover-Foxcroft, was 4,813th at 68:02; and in 5,300th place was Holly Johnsen, 52 of Greenville Junction, at 72:30.
