Spouses earn top honors at Foxcroft Academy Alumni Weekend Pony Pride 5K

DOVER-FOXCROFT — For the last 23 years Foxcroft Academy graduates, community members and visitors to the region have been able to kick off the Saturday of Foxcroft Academy Alumni Weekend/Dover-Foxcroft Shiretown Homecoming by running in the Pony Pride 5K. For the fourth year in a row on Aug. 3 the course started in front of the main school building, traveled across several streets in town as well as a trail before concluding with over a half a lap on the track to end at the finish line.

1996 Foxcroft Academy graduate Shawn Keenan won this year’s Pony Pride 5K, running a time of 17 minutes, 40 seconds for the top performance among a field of 26 entrants. Keenan also won the 2010 race, which started and finished across town by the PRYMCA.

Keenan’s wife Diane Keenan ran a time of 19:04 to earn the 2019 Pony Pride women’s title. Kennan earned top female honors for the second year in a row, third time in four years and fourth year overall dating back to 2013 (the second-most top performances in women’s division history). Her 19:04 set a women’s record for the newer course starting and ending on the Foxcroft Academy campus, surpassing her time from last year by about 16 seconds.
