Observer Building Museum opens June 22

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society will be opening the Observer Building Museum for 2019 on the day of the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, Saturday June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New this year will be an exhibit put together by Dennis Allen, “What’s in our river?” The display features items discovered by Allen and his metal detector. The historical society will also have a display “Let’s Talk Business” featuring the Dwelley Spool Factory, Cushing Perfection Dyes, Cushing Coal, Foxcroft Bakery and Maine Leathers.

The museum will be open every Thursday (except July 4) through the summer as well as Saturday, Aug. 3 for homecoming. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please stop in – society members love visitors.
