D-F Kiwanis Piscataquis River Race results

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Canoeists and kayakers braved the rain to paddle approximately 10 miles from King Cummings Park in Guilford to the shore across Foxcroft Academy in the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis’ 47th annual Piscataquis River Race on April 27.

In Class 1 — Open Speed Challenge Ben Randall had the day’s fastest time at 44 minutes, 40 seconds. Larry Merrill came in second in the division at 58:17.

Class 4 (eight different classes no entrants this year) — Racing One-Person Open Canoe OC-1: 1. R.W. Estela 58:25; 2. Irving Gilbert 1:11.17.

Class 5 — Racing Two-Person Open Canoe Short OC-2: 1. Robert and Tristan Martin 52:49.

Class 6 — Racing Two-Person Open Canoe Medium OC-1: 1. Mark Ranco and Pete Taylor 54:38; 2. Devin and Robert Kerr 57:44.

Class 10 — Recreational One-Person Open Canoe Short OC-1: 1. Devin Williams 1:04.57; 2. Chris Dalton 1:07.13.

Class 11 — Recreational Two-Person Open Canoe Medium OC-2: 1. Chad Robertson and Greg Caruso 53:48; 2. Richard and Roby May 56:08; 3. Scott Gerous and Erica Buswell 59:45; 4. Nick and Mary Rowley 59:48; 5. Olive Broughton and David Reilich-Godine 1:01.40.

Class 14 — Recreational Ancient Mariners Open Canoe OC-2: 1. Robert Van Wyck and Bill Anderson 51:26; 2. Chip Loring and Terry Wescott 52:41.

Class 15 — Challenge Couples Challenge OC-2: 1. Mary and Allisen Risinger 52:42; 2. River and Abby Robertson 53:04; 3. Katie Yakubowski and Zach Neece 56:46.

Class 16 — Challenge Key Club/High School Challenge OC-2: 1. Frederick Coffin and William Morrison 1:03.32; 2. Hannah Day and Katie Dalton 1:07.30.
