Outdoor track results

The Foxcroft Academy and Dexter Regional High School outdoor track and field teams opened the 2019 season at an April 18 Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the Brewer Community School. The Ponies scored 46 points to place fourth among seven schools and Dexter picked up 14 points to place seventh.

Foxcroft’s Chandler Dow swept the hurdles. He won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 19.22 seconds and came in first in the 300 hurdles at 49.77 seconds. He also ran the third leg of the fifth-place 4×100 relay squad as Hunter Clarke, Bodie Clarke, Dow and Jesse Drury combined for a time of 53.37 seconds.

Lucas Ronco finished second in the 300 hurdles at 50.09 seconds. Dustin Simmons was third in the 200 at 26.32 seconds while Bodie Clarke came in fifth at 26.71 seconds.

Jacob Reed’s height of 4 feet, 10 inches placed him fourth. Rounding out the Pony scoring was Jasper Makowski, fifth at 2:28.96, and Simmons, sixth in the 100 at 12.59 seconds.

Miles Gadwah had the highest finish for Dexter as he came in third in the 110 hurdles at 22.82 seconds. Isaac Webber ended up fourth in the javelin with a throw of 103-10.

Chris Roderka had a pair of sixth-place performances. He came in sixth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:24.88 as well as the high jump at 4-10.

Dexter’s 4×100 relay, comprised of Dillion Allen, Cameron Allen, Ryan Boisvert and Clyde Day, finished sixth at 53.48 seconds.

In the girls’ meet, Dexter scored 18 points to place fifth of five programs getting on the scoring sheet.

Danielle Cummings had the third-best time in the 100 at 14.08 seconds. She also was fourth in the long jump at 14-09.25.

The Tiger 4×100 relay was third as Aliviah Anderson, Erin Bache, Molly Bennett and Cummings covered the lap in 60.63 seconds.

Bache added a fifth-place finish in the high jump at 4-02.

Greenville High School and Piscataquis Community High School began the season April 19 at Hampden Academy.

The Greenville boys were eighth of eight teams picking up points with a score of four. Laker sophomore Jack Morehouse came in fourth in the javelin at a distance of 111-11.

In the girls’ meet, Greenville had 12 points to finish seventh among nine schools.

Sophomore Bianca Breton had the second-best javelin throw of the meet at 95-09. Freshman Jessica Cobb placed fourth in the 300 hurdles in a time of 59.21 seconds.

PCHS and the Bangor Christian School each picked up four points at Hampden to tie for eighth place.

Pirate sophomore Sarah Richards was fourth in the discus with a throw of 69-08.
