Penquis Cruizers ready to roll for 30th anniversary

On Saturday, March 30 the Penquis Cruizers held the group’s annual Cabin Fever Reliever at the home of Fred and Susan Worcester in Williamsburg, this is one of the group’s annual events. This year there was discussion about how to recognize the organization’s 30 years of bringing auto enthusiasts in the area — and outside our area — together to enjoy their love of everything automobile.

There will be a special “30 Years” T-shirt designed this spring. Shirts will only be available by pre-order. Each of this year’s newsletters will include a trivia quiz reminding members of the many activities the group has sponsored of participated in over the years. All members are encouraged to send their answers back even if they are not sure they are correct. There will be a prize given for one name drawn from the returned submissions for each quiz. For the first quiz — the winning name will receive a free T-shirt with the anniversary logo.

While several events for the summer were discussed, more activities will be added as the cruizin’ season begins. The group always plans several dinners/lunches out and as many ice cream runs as possible during the summer! Members get together at car shows in the area and also at cruise nights.

For 21 years the Cruizers hosted the Milo Cruize-In held at the Dexter Shoe/JSI Store Fixtures location. People came from near and far to enjoy this one day event. Most years more than 100 cars — and many more people — attended the event.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Cruizers, contact Fred or Susan Worcester at 965-8070. The Worcesters say all you need is an interest in automotive events, a mailing address and …. 15 bucks!
