Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star selections

BANGOR — The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches recently announced that four players from the region have been chosen for the 2019 Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Games on Saturday, March 9 at Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University.

The Girls AA/A/B North team includes Foxcroft Academy’s Makenzie Beaudry among the 13 players on the roster. The Girls C/D North team includes Kaylee Deering of Dexter Regional High School and Camryn Rolfe of Penquis Valley High School. Trever Richards of Dexter is a Boys Class C/North team selection.

The four players will be on squads facing another team comprised of South senior all-star selections. The Girls AA/A/B game tips off at 9:15 a.m., the Boys C/D contest is at 1 p.m. with the Girls C/D all-star game follows at 2:45 p.m.

Two other players from the region will take part in foul shooting competitions March 9 at Husson. Dexter sophomore Peyton Grant and Foxcroft senior Jeremy Richard are both among four girls and boys who will test their free throw ability during the 8:30 a.m. contests.

Dexter boys head coach Peter Murray earned Maine Association of Basketball Coaches Coach of the Year honors for Class C North.

Proceeds from Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Weekend benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.
