Pair of Pony relay teams swim at state championship

ORONO — Four Foxcroft Academy girls swam between two relay teams at the 2019 Class B swimming and diving championship on Monday, Feb. 18 at the University of Maine.

In the 200-yard medley relay Reece McCarty, Olivia McCorrison, Abigail Henderson, and Amy Waugh combined for a time of 2 minutes, 29.68 seconds to place 14th.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay Henderson, McCarty, Waugh, and McCorrison finished 16th with a time of 2:14.20.

The pair of relays accounted for eight points as Foxcroft tied the Hyde School of Bath and the Boothbay/Wiscasset program for 15th place among 21 schools scoring points at the state meet.

Cape Elizabeth won the Class B championship — for the third year in a row — with a score of 487 points, followed by Greely of Cumberland Center with 300.5 points and Mount Desert Island in third place at 245 points.
