Auditions for ‘Seussical Jr.’ Feb. 10-11

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre and Slightly Off-Center Players have announced auditions for the spring production of “Seussical Jr.” Auditions will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 1-4 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 11 from 5-7 p.m. Auditions will be held at the Commons Event Center at Central Hall, 152 East Main Street.

The auditions are open to area elementary, middle, and high school students. Kids should be at least 5 years old, be able to read independently, and take direction. The show is a musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s favorite books and anyone wishing to audition should be prepared to sing something a cappella (without music) to demonstrate their vocal range. They may prepare one minute of a song to sing or there will be song samples available at auditions.

“Seussical Jr.,” directed by Bobby Keniston, will be performed the first two weekends in May at the Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. The show is being sponsored by Foxcroft Veterinary Services and Dave’s World/US Cellular.

The auditions are very supportive and the Theatre is always looking for new people to join in its productions. If you would like to audition but can’t attend either time or you need more information, please contact the Center Theatre by calling 564-8943, emailing info@centertheatre.org, or stopping in at the Center Theatre at 20 East Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to make arts, culture, education, and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
