Pine Tree Hospice adult evening bereavement support group meets bi-monthly

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Has the loss of a loved one been weighing you down? Whether it happened recently or in the past, the death of a significant person can be traumatic.

Pine Tree Hospice is here to help. Grief is a normal reaction to the death of someone important to you. It can be both powerful and painful; yet, when we pay attention to our grief and have support from others, experiencing grief can lead to healing and growth.

Throughout one’s grief journey, how grief manifests itself varies in amount and intensity. Not only do we all experience grief differently, but we also process it in our own unique ways. Some people’s loneliness or sadness may appear to be more pronounced, while others may keep their thoughts and feelings of grief to themselves.

To support those who are grieving, Pine Tree Hospice holds an adult evening bereavement support group on the second and the fourth Wednesday of each month in Dover-Foxcroft. Many people seek and find comfort by sharing emotions and thoughts of grief in a group setting. Others may never say a word but because the participants in the group have the shared experience of the death of a loved one, they are able to show understanding and empathy to one another.

Our facilitated group is for adults in the community who are experiencing grief due to a death, whether or not they have utilized other Pine Tree Hospice services. Please call 564-4346 for more information and to schedule a visit or register for this group.
