Kimball Insurance marks two decades serving clients in Piscataquis County and beyond

SANGERVILLE — Offering numerous types of insurance coverages and financial programs, Kimball Insurance, LLC provides strong customer service to go above and beyond the needs of its clients. Since opening its doors in the spring of 1999, Kimball Insurance has strived to be a family-oriented independent agency.

“April 1999 I opened the doors over there,” owner Bob Kimball said about the previous location on Hudson Avenue in Guilford. “I had 25 years in the insurance business before I even opened the doors, so it will be 45 years in the business.” Kimball added that he still has some of the same clients since he began with Prudential four and a half decades ago.

In December 2016 Kimball Insurance moved to the 91 Main Street location in Sangerville. The new building provides much more space for the business. “We couldn’t get seven (agents) in the old building,” Kimball said about the current staff numbers.

The Sangerville location has also enabled Kimball Insurance to offer many more services to its clients. “We have expanded a lot,” said second generation owner Kamron Kimball, who joined his father at the family business nearly 15 years ago. He said last fall Kimball Insurance added Medicare and life insurance agent Nolan Lovell and has more financial offerings available, such as for 401(k), investment, and planning, than before.

“(Property and casualty), what a difference it makes,” Kimball said, about the increase in insurance programs available in recent years.

Kimball Insurance staff believe that personal in-house service is the key difference they bring to clients over other agencies. “We will sit down and discuss everything they have for insurance, auto, business, commercial,” Kamron Kimball said. “We can come to your place or you can come in to the office.”

“I have always found if go to their home and you need something, it is right there,” Bob Kimball said.

“And they feel comfortable in their own home,” the younger Kimball added.

“You can make a payment on the website but still a lot of people like to come in and pay, and a bunch of agencies don’t do that anymore,” he said. Kimball said other clients can email photos directly to them and sign some documents electronically, which is “especially helpful if they are traveling.”

Kimball Insurance covers a large service area in and around Piscataquis County and beyond. “We are all over the state,” Kamron Kimball said.

The staff at Kimball Insurance wants clients to feel at ease, with a sense of security that comes when the client knows they are in capable and caring hands. The team will work every step of the way to provide the proper coverage for anything the client has in mind. The agents want their customers to be as informed as they are in order to provide the best policy available at the best price.

“With coverages you have got to make sure you have got the right ones,” Kamron Kimball said.

“We have been fortunate to have staff who feel the same way we do,” he said about the dedication to clients. In addition to the Kimballs and Lovell there is Sonya Conner, Tanya Goodwin, Olivia Schmiedlehner, and Shelby Taylor.

Most of the staff at Kimball Insurance have grown up in the area or have long ties to the region. They are involved in the community on their own, such as coaching school and youth sports teams and working with local non-profit organizations, and through the business.
