100TH WIN AND TOURNEY TITLE — Foxcroft Academy senior Dustin Simmons won the 170-pound division at the Franklin and Savings Bank Invitational Tournament at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford on Dec. 15. Two nights earlier Simmons won his 100th career match in his home gym.

“It’s always a great moment when one of our wrestlers reaches this goal and extra special when they do it at home,” Foxcroft head coach Luis Ayala said.

Simmons has been a varsity wrestler since his freshman year and has had a stellar career. He was voted team captain this year and last year he was a state runner-up at 160 pounds.

“Dustin has put in the time in the gym and has worked hard in the off season to get to this point,” Ayala said. “He is a great leader that always leads by example. He is one of the hardest workers on the team. This is only one of many goals that Dustin has for this season and I have no doubt that he will achieve them.”
