HJ Crosby Community Band ‘Bah Humbug’ holiday concert Dec. 9 in Dexter

DEXTER — A “Bah Humbug Christmas” is the theme for the annual holiday concert presented by the Harold J Crosby Community Band at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the town hall. This cabaret event provides delicious treats made by members and friends while the musicians entertain with a lively selection of songs from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and others. The music from the Disney movie “Frozen” will delight the younger audience as they sing along to the melodies made famous by that movie.

The Harold J Crosby Community Band will also be providing the background music of familiar holiday music for a very unique poem narrated by a band member. The poem and the music take a rather scary look at Christmas and remind kids of all ages to “Beware the Krampus” from a new musical “A Christmas Tale.” The band will take the audience on a Jamaican holiday to warm up from all that spine chilling repertoire they have prepared.

Every holiday concert requires familiar Christmas carols in a singalong and, as always, ends with the traditional “White Christmas.”
