Kris Kringle’s Market returns Saturday in Monson

MONSON — Looking for the perfect homemade Christmas gift or a pair of mittens or a hat for yourself, then stop by Monson’s Kris Kringle’s Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Monson Gym.

Kris Kringle’s Market has a variety of crafts (aprons, fabric items, furniture, jewelry, plus more.), homemade food (bullas or Finnish Coffee Bread, chocolates, cookies, etc.), beautiful wreaths, plus more for sale. There is a young group of entrepreneurs, 13-year-old, Carter Pratt, his 11-year-old brother Cameron, and their 11-year-old cousin Heidi Clawson, have teamed up together to create their own art. Carter Pratt has created his own pencil drawings of ships plus designs for T-shirts. Clawson and Cameron Pratt are also working on their own T-shirts designs for kids. So, stop by to get a look at what these young artists have to offer.

The Kris Kringle Committee will begin serving lunch at 11 a.m. The lunch menu is a choice of soup, ham and cheese, egg salad, tuna, or peanut butter are the sandwich choices along with a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie and a beverage.

Entries for the Christmas Tree Challenge (trees are made from recycled/reusable materials) must be at the gym between 8 and 9 a.m. The trees will be placed in front of the gym, where they will remain until 3 p.m.

Entries for the Gingerbread House Competition must be at the gym by 10 a.m. This year’s theme is a “Winter Wonderland.” Ribbons will be awarded to the top three creative and well-crafted entries.

The Monson Jammers, a local group of talented musicians, will perform a variety of holiday songs and familiar tunes at noon.

The Kris Kringle Committee will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets plus there will be door prizes given out each hour.

Cookie decorating for the kids will take place at noon. Santa Claus will arrive at 1 p.m. to listen to each child’s wishes.

This event is the only fundraiser for the Kris Kringle Committee which uses the proceeds to purchase Christmas gifts for local needy children. For space and further information please call Annalee Libby at 997-3268 or 827-4857.
