Mackey Andrews for Senate District 4

To the Editor;
I am writing in support of Sue Mackey Andrews for State Senate District 4. I am known to wear “many hats” in the community, but Sue has me beat by a long shot!

Over the years I have been in awe of her continued commitment to making the world a better place in everything she does: her outstanding local and national work on adverse childhood experiences, her long-standing advocacy against domestic violence, her work on behalf of older people, improvement of nursing home care, improved access to health care, support for hospice, advocacy for living wages for caregivers, expansion of job training in our region, poverty alleviation, efforts to fight food insecurity, tackling of transportation problems in our rural region, and the opioid epidemic, to name a few. She doesn’t just talk about these issues; she works to solve problems every day. Sue has participated in and led many long-standing collaborative groups, and brings organizational skill and excellent listening ability to each. She shows up! And not just to shake your hand and be seen. She makes a difference. She cares about everyone.

Sue is well respected in Augusta where she has frequently given testimony and talked with legislators of both parties. They know she is for real. We need people like Sue in Augusta who will work hard for all of us. I urge people to support Sue Mackey Andrews for state senate.
