Several members of the Foxcroft Academy cross country team took part in varsity races during the Caribou Invitational on Sept. 8.

Sophomore Kaylee Durgin finished 11th among 13 entrants in the girls’ No. 4 run. Durgin covered the 3.1 miles in a time of 26 minutes, 24.24 seconds.

In the boys’ races, Pony senior Nicholas Daneman ran a time of 20:06.12 to place seventh of 11 in the No. 3 run. Junior Jediah Dean came in fifth of 12 at 20:31.91 in the No. 4 run, and sophomore Corey Merrill was sixth of 10 at 21:36.32 in the No. 5 run.

Dexter Regional High School traveled to Bucksport for the school’s invitational on Sept. 8. In the boys varsity race freshman Miles Gadwah came in 28th among a field of 31. He covered the five kilometers in a time of 23:46.14.

A week prior on Sept. 1 the Foxcroft boys finished 10th among 11 teams at the Ellsworth Invitational with a score of 246 points.

Junior Jacob Raynes was the first Pony to cross the finish line. Raynes ran a time of 20:19.02 to place 41st among 77 entrants.

Sophomore Barrett Knapp came in 50th at 21:09.47; Daneman placed 52nd at 21:11.37; Dean was 55th at 21:25.04; and rounding out the Foxcroft contingent was Merrill in 67th place in 22:41.49.
