Center Theatre production auditions Sept. 15 and 17

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre and Slightly Off-Center Players have announced auditions for the fall and winter productions. Auditions will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 and at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17. Auditions will be held at the Commons at Central Hall, 152 East Main Street.

The auditions will be for three productions. The Slightly Off-Center Players are putting on a pirate dinner theatre called “Death on Deck” at Central Hall in early November and are looking for both men and women high school age and older.

For the holiday season, the Center Theatre is producing a new play written and directed by Dover-Foxcroft native Bobby Keniston. The show is titled “A Wicked Christmas Carol” and brings the Wicked Witch of the West and Oz into a story reminiscent of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The combination of the two classic stories is sure to be a hit. Actors of all ages are needed for this production which will be on stage in early December.

Finally, the Far-Off Center Players are looking for anyone interested in joining them for this year’s annual production of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 10 p.m. on Oct. 27. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is rated R and as such is an an adult-only production.

Those wanting to audition do not need to prepare anything or have any previous experience. The auditions are very supportive and the Theatre is always looking for new people to join in their productions. If you would like to audition but can’t attend either time, or you need more information, please contact the Center Theatre by calling 564-8943, emailing info@centertheatre.org or stopping in at the Center Theatre at 20 East Main Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to make arts, culture, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
