JD Foundation announces intern

ABBOT — The JD Foundation is pleased to announce that Adrienne Clark, who is finishing her master’s in clinical mental health counseling, will be interning with the organization over the next two semesters. She will be accepting clients starting Aug. 30. These hourly sessions will be free.

Clarke writes, “I am very close to completing my master’s in clinical mental health counseling. The next step for me is to complete an internship. I am very thankful for the opportunity to begin interning with the JD Foundation at the end of August. My internship will be supervised by a licensed social worker and, because I am a counselor in training, I cannot charge clients for my counseling services. My background has been working with victims of domestic violence; I am also getting a specialty in trauma. I have the ability to work with all types of issues that you may want to discuss.

I do have a heart for veterans having spent 10 years in the Army myself and being married to a retired soldier. Because of my background as a soldier I have met different people from all over the world. Therefore, I have a desire to work with any race, nationality or ethnicity. My approach to counseling is from a whole person perspective with an overall wellness viewpoint.”

Please call 876-2295 to set up an appointment. Clarke is available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
