Piscataquis Community Elementary School recognizes Students of the Month

GUILFORD — The final Students of the Month at Piscataquis Community Elementary School were honored in front of their peers during the June 15 morning meeting, the last day of school.

The June honorees are fifth-graders Khloe Kimball and Sarah Silva, sixth-grader Ben Higgins and seventh-graders Kendall Kimball and Anna Zimmerman.

Students of the Month are middle-schoolers selected by their teachers for criteria such as outstanding citizenship and academic performance.

The morning meeting also featured the recognition of PCES “Upstanders,” students who have stood up for their peers and/or others over the previous few weeks. The final two Upstanders are first-grader Isabella Chase and third-grader Lorelai Raymond.

All Upstanders are presented with a personalized boomerang created by guidance director Jason Schrivehung, with previous boomerangs on display on the wall in the main lobby. The boomerangs, which signify that good deeds come back, will now go home with the various recipients from the past school year.
