D-F Kiwanis Piscataquis River Race results
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft held its 46th annual Piscataquis River Race, from Guilford to Dover-Foxcroft, on May 26 (the event was moved back a month due to unsafe conditions in late April) with 26 boats and 41 racers.
Ben Randall was the fastest down the river with a time of just over 58 minutes. At 1 hour, 17 minutes, Nolan Mabee had the top time via canoe. Randall and Mabee will share the Bob Darling Memorial Trophy.
The race results (featuring classes with entrants) are as follows — Class 1 Open Speed Event: 1. Ben Randall 58 minutes, 8 seconds; 2. Ryan and Sophie Morrison 1 hour, 53 minutes, 14 seconds.
Class 2 Racing One-Person Kayak Short K-1: 1. Ray Wirth 1:13.11; 2. Mark Bamford 1:19.38; 3. Aili Hartilla 1:32.15.
Class 4 Racing One-Person Open Canoe OC-1: 1. Nolan Mabee 1:17.44; 2. Bob Martin 1:19.43.
