PVC JV track results

BREWER — A number of area athletes took part in the Penobscot Valley Conference JV outdoor track and field championship May 23 at the Brewer Community School.

Foxcroft Academy freshman Khrystofor Downing was the meet winner in the 110 hurdles. Downing’s time of 20.23 seconds gave him first-place honors. Downing also came in second in the 300 hurdles at 53.08 seconds.

Pony freshman Logan Martin placed third in the 100 at 12.58 seconds and he was third in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 8 inches.

Sophomore Hunter Clarke of Foxcroft finished third in the 200 at 25.90 seconds and he came in fifth in the 100 at 12.70 seconds.

Junior Eli Bickford of the Pony squad was seventh in the shot put at 32-01 and he was also 18th in the javelin at 86-08.

Foxcroft freshman Corey Merrill ended up ninth in the 1,600 at 5:29.60. He also was 20th in the 800 at 2:33.69.

Other Ponies recording top 20 performances were sophomore Cole Edgerly who was 13th in the 200 at 28.06 seconds and junior Spencer Ireland’s long jump distance of 14-06 placed him 15th in the event.

Dexter Regional High School senior Nate Jerome had the fourth-place javelin throw at 110-02. Tiger sophomore Nick Leighton was 15th in the 100 prelims at 13.22 seconds.

Senior Robert Jennings of Penquis Valley High School came in seventh in the 400 at 70.42 seconds.

In the girls’ meet Foxcroft freshman Sabrina Hamele was the 1,600 racewalk runner-up. Hamele finished with a time of 11:20.04. Classmate Kelli Black placed fifth in the event at 11:49.68.

Piscataquis Community High School freshman Sarah Richards came in 11th in the discus with a throw of 54-06, and she was also 12th in the shot put at 20-06. Pirate junior Eve Patterson placed 11th in the javelin at a distance of 56-06.
