Strongly recommends and supports Mackey Andrews for Senate District 4
To the Editor;
I grew up in Sangerville and graduated from PCHS and chose to return to this county once I graduated from college. I now live in St. Albans with my husband Harry and we spend our summers at Piper Pond.
I met Sue Mackey Andrews, State Senate 4 candidate, in 1979 when I was a public health nurse for the state of Maine based in Dover-Foxcroft. Sue had moved to our area to create services for families and young children with disabilities and developmental delays. Through my work with Sue, I became active with the Child Development Services (formerly GUIDE in our region) at both the local and state level.
Sue understands that when we seek all of the opportunities for a child, that also includes opportunities for parents and families and communities: schools; affordable, accessible and available quality medical care; jobs; homes; infrastructure; and the list goes on. It also includes communities that care for their aging population. Sue has always seen the larger, more complete, picture of what each and every person deserves and needs to not just survive, but to be successful and thrive.
She has also been active promoting services for our aging population, working to support the Maine Highlands Senior Center most recently.
Sue’s work on many boards, committees and task forces, locally and statewide, has had many positive outcomes. Sue views challenges as “opportunities.” She is a good listener and always follows through by getting back to people with answers and resources. Furthermore, her own consulting business experience has sharpened her organizational skills and vast knowledge base.
Sue is honest and hard working. She takes “the high road” when dealing with conflicts and challenges. This is so refreshing these days!
I strongly recommend and support Sue Mackey Andrews for District 4 senator. We will all benefit so much.
