North team wins three of four Maine McDonald’s all-star games

BANGOR — The North teams earned victories in three of the four high school basketball contests held March 10 for the McDonald’s Maine Senior All-Star Games at Husson University’s Newman Gym.

The Classes AA/A/B South girls kicked off the action by taking the first game of the morning with an 84-81 victory over the AA/A/B North all-stars. The Classes AA/A/B boys then sent the North contingent on a three-game winning streak, piling up a day’s best 145 points in a 145-120 victory over the South.

In the Classes C/D games, the North boys defeated the South C/D all-stars 114-89 and the North C/D girls held off the South stars 79-74.

In the C/D boys game, Taylor Schildroth of George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill scored 30 points to lead the North by the South while Fort Kent’s Jacob Daigle added 20 points. Richmond’s Zach Small scored 27 points to lead the South and Old Orchard Beach’s Ian Regan added 19 points.

Jacob Bickford of Dexter and Piscataquis’ Bryce Gilbert were both chosen for the Boys C/D North Team. Greenville teammates Devin Boone and Nick Foley both were on the Boys C/D South Team.

In the C/D girls game, Houlton’s Kolleen Bouchard and Central of Corinth’s Sydney Allen each scored 21 points to spark the victory. Richmond’s Sydney Underhill-Tilton paced the South with 16 points while Boothbay’s Page Brown and Madison’s Sydney Leblanc each added 13.

The Girls C/D North team included Dexter’s Rebecca Batron and Erin Speed of PCHS.
