Center Theatre vacation drama camp will be at SeDoMoCha

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre is accepting registrations for the February Vacation Drama Camp which is being held at the SeDoMoCha School. The camp runs from Feb. 19 through the 23rd, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a performance at the Center Theatre the evening of Feb. 23.

“We’re thankful for Stacy Shorey, superintendent of RSU 68, for helping us with our camp this year,” Executive Director Patrick Myers said. “It’s going to be a great place for the camp and the campers.”

Myers said the camp, which is open to kids from kindergarten through grade 8, will be working on the hilarious one-act play “Bed Bugs.” Emily Hutchins, who ran the theatre’s Summer Drama Camp last year, will direct the camp along with David Murray, who also worked on the summer camp and is a teacher at SeDoMoCha.

Thanks to generous local businesses like Pleasant River Lumber, organizations such as the Kiwanis, and individual donors, the Center Theatre is able to offer some scholarships for those with financial need. To register, or for more information on the camps, visit www.CenterTheatre.org, call the theatre at 564-8943 or visit the Center Theatre box office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to make the arts a part of life in the Maine Highlands by offering affordable entertainment, arts, culture and education.
