Pony indoor track concludes the regular season

ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy indoor track and field closed out the 2017-18 Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League regular season with a meet at the University of Maine on Feb. 3.

The Pony girls had no score, finishing eighth among eight schools.

Sophomore Sadie Avellar came in 17th in two events for her team’s highest finishes. Avellar was 17th in the 55 prelims at 9.39 seconds and she also finished 17th in the long jump with a distance of 11 feet, 1.50.

The boys from Foxcroft also had no score, tying the Bangor Christian School for seventh place among the eight teams.

Sophomore Hunter Clarke was the highest placing Pony boy. Clarke came in 21st in the 200 with a time of 27.24 seconds.

Next up is the conference championship at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 at UMaine.
