FA takes to the pool against Bangor

BANGOR — The Foxcroft Academy swim team took on Class A Bangor High School in a dual meet on Dec. 15. The host Rams won the girls meet by a score of 128-39 and the Bangor boys earned a 134-25 victory.

Jenna Clukey led the Ponies with two individual first-place swims and taking part in a winning relay. Clukey won the 50-yard freestyle in 27.06 seconds and she came in first in the 100 free at 1:01.07. She anchored the top 200 free relay squad as Emily Curtis, Abby Henderson, Chloe Waugh and Clukey combined for a time of 2:01.73.

Clukey also swam the third leg of the third place 200 medley relay team. Waugh, Henderson, Clukey and Curtis finished the race in 2:20.50.

Waugh also came in third in 200 free at 2:28.85 and third in the 100 back at 1:26.07, while Henderson was third in the 100 breaststroke at 1:35.30.

Curtis placed fourth in the 100 free at 1:07.01 and Henderson was fifth at 1:11.93. Curtis was also fourth in the 50 free at 29.40 seconds. Carigan Fisk came in sixth in the 50 free at 1:03.25

Amy Waugh finished fourth in the 100 back with a time of 1:29.35 and she placed fifth in the 100 breast at 1:45.26.

The Foxcroft boys 200 free relay team finished second in the meet against Bangor. Samuel Gidman, Hunter Kemp, Triston Green and Andy Yu combined for a time of 2:01.99. The Pony 200 medley relay was third as Green, Kemp, Yu and Nathaniel Skomars finished in 2:19.25.

Green was the 100 back runner-up in a time of 1:16.67. He also came in fifth in the 100 free at 1:06.50 and Gidman was sixth at 1:09.64.

Yu placed third in the 100 breast at 1:32.10 and he was fourth in the 500 free at 7:08.14.

Skomars finished fourth in both 100 and 200 freestyle races with respective times of 1:05.20 and 2:34.36.

Kemp swam to a fourth-place performance in the 100 breast at 1:34.68, and he was fifth in the 50 free at 31.83 seconds.

In the 50 free Gidman placed fourth at 30.26 seconds and finishing sixth in the event was Gary Li in 36.10 seconds.
