Rep. Stearns to seek reelection in House District 119

GUILFORD — Rep. Paul Stearns, R-Guilford has announced his intention to run for the Maine House of Representatives in District 119. Stearns is currently serving his second term in that seat. House District 119 is made up of Abbot, Beaver Cove, Bowerbank, Greenville, Guilford, Monson, Parkman, Sangerville, Sebec, Shirley and Willimantic plus the unorganized territories of Blanchard Township, Northeast Piscataquis (including Barnard and Elliottsville Townships) and Northwest Piscataquis.

“It is an honor to serve the hardworking people of Piscataquis County in Augusta” Stearns said. “We have done a decent job of getting the fiscal affairs of the state in order, but there is still a great deal of work to be done to make sure that essential government services are provided to the citizenry in an efficient and effective manner.”

Stearns served a term on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and currently serves as the ranking House Republican on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee.

Sen. Paul Davis, R-Sangerville says, “Paul does a fine job of representing the citizens and businesses in his district. I look forward to having him continue to be my representative.”

Rep. Stearns and his wife Melissa live in Guilford and have two grown children.
