Sen. Davis to seek re-election in Senate District 4

SANGERVILLE – Sen. Paul Davis, R-Sangerville has announced his intention to run for Maine Senate District 4 in the November 2018 election. Davis currently holds that senate seat, comprised of all of Piscataquis County and parts of Penobscot and Somerset counties.

“I would deeply appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the people of Piscataquis, Penobscot and Somerset counties,” Davis said. “We have made great strides in reducing Maine’s tax burden and reforming our welfare system, but there are many challenges ahead and much more work to be done.

“Serving the people of District 4 is an honor and a privilege and I look forward to another term in the Maine Senate.”

Sen. Davis is currently the chair of the Legislature’s Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry and State and Local Government Committees. He is also a member of the Government Oversight Committee.

A veteran lawmaker who has served in both the Maine House of Representatives and the Senate, Sen. Davis has previously served as the Senate Republican Leader and Assistant Republican Leader.

“Those of us who serve with Sen. Davis think of him as the ‘conscience of the Senate,’” said Sen. Roger Katz, R-Kennebec. “He is always concerned about doing what is right.”

Davis’ distinguished career in law enforcement allowed him to serve his communities long before he was elected to the senate. His integrity and hard work are why he is so well respected in the halls of the Statehouse.”

“Sen. Paul Davis has a longstanding record of service, to both his constituents and his country,” said Senate Majority Leader Garrett Mason, R-Androscoggin. ”I know that the residents of District 4 will continue to be served well by him in Augusta”

Sen. Davis and his wife Patricia live in Sangerville and have two grown children.
