Parkman Grange seeks applications and donations for SAD 4 Santa Program

PARKMAN — The Parkman Grange is again this year running the SAD 4 Santa Program, helping families in the school district — the towns of Abbot, Cambridge, Guilford, Parkman, Sangerville and Wellington — enjoy Christmas.

Susan Manchester, master of the Grange, notes, “Applications are already available at schools, town offices and libraries in the area and there are no specific eligibility requirements. We are trusting folks to decide whether they need help or can give it!”

The deadline for submitting applications is Nov. 25 so Grange volunteers have time to gather what is needed. “Winter coats, boots and toys will be provided along with all the fixings for a turkey dinner thanks to the Sangerville Masons,” Manchester noted. “Distribution is currently planned for Dec. 17.”

Donations can be sent to Parkman Grange Santa Project, P.O. Box 114, Guilford, ME 04443. The Grange will also have Angel Trees at KC’s Country Store in Parkman and Hardwood Products in Guilford, giving local folks a chance to buy actual gifts for children.

The Grange will also serve up a hunter’s supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, with all proceeds benefitting the SAD 4 Santa Program.

Manchester noted that the Grange is grateful to the Sangerville Masonic Lodge, United Bikers of Maine, Cambridge Cruisers, and Parkman Prowlers for their generous toy donations and support. Contact Manchester at 277-3942 for more information about the project.
