Free screening of ‘Sonic Sea’ Oct. 26 at the Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Emmy Award-winning documentary “Sonic Sea” will be shown at the Center Theatre at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26. The showing will be free thanks to a partnership between the Center Theatre and the Sierra Club Maine.

“Sonic Sea,” which won Emmys in 2017 for best Nature Documentary, Best Music and Sound and best Graphic Design and Art Direction, dives into the issue of damaging noise pollution in the the ocean. Sound is essential to the survival and prosperity of marine life. But man-made ocean noise is threatening this fragile world. “Sonic Sea” is about protecting life in our waters from the destructive effects of oceanic noise pollution.

The showing is free to the public.
