September Grange events across the region

Piscataquis Pomona Grange meets on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Parkman Grange for a 6 p.m. potluck supper followed by a meeting. All area Grange members are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Bill Bemis at 924-4123. The Parkman Grange is located at the four corners.

The Garland Days Grange public supper will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Garland Grange Hall on the Oliver Hill Road. The menu includes baked beans, ribs, homemade bread, and desserts.

A meatloaf supper will be from 5-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Wayside Grange in Dexter, featuring live music and also serving scalloped potatoes, winter squash, assorted desserts, lemonade and pretty good coffee. Take out available after 6:30 p.m. if there’s anything left, so please call Chester Bekier first to check availability at 270-1166. The little Wayside Grange is located at 861 North Dexter Road (Route 23).

Members and friends of the Valley Grange in Guilford meet for a potluck supper at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, followed by a meeting to include draping charter in honor of Harriet Mitchell. The Katahdin Valley Boys play their award-winning bluegrass at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30 at at the Wayside Theatre in Dexter with Ken Brooks on guitar and vocals, Dan Simons on mandolin and vocals, Jeff Folger on banjo and vocals and Steve Bixby on bass and vocals. Doors open 6:30 p.m. and homemade goodies and pretty good coffee will be sold at intermission. Door prize, 50/50.
