Local contingent joins nearly 7,000 at TD Beach to Beacon 10K in Cape Elizabeth

CAPE ELIZABETH — Seven residents from the region took part in the 20th annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 5, being part of 6,879 finishers from Maine and across the world to cover the 6.2 miles.

Julia Annis, 20 of Dover-Foxcroft finished 2,293rd among the 6,879 to cross the line with a nettime of 53 minutes, 38 seconds. Danielle Vafiades, 34 of Dexter, came in 3,288th at 57:50. Tracy Glidden’s time of 59:01 was good for 3,571st place.

Gayle Peirce, 57 of Exeter, was 4,107th at 1:01.22. Jody Annis, 47 of Dover-Foxcroft, finished 4,339th at 1:02.26 as she and her daughter Julia both ran the 2017 TD Beach to Beacon 10K.

Dawn Wintle, 41 of Dexter, placed 4,624th at 1:03.54. Holly Johnsen, 50 of Greenville Junction, rounded out the local group of runners with a time of 1:07.02 to come in 5,137th on Saturday.
