Sebec Fourth of July canoe race results

SEBEC — A total of 14 craft were entered into 13 different classes during the annual Sebec Lake canoe race held mid-morning as part of the Fourth of July festivities in the village. The race results are as follows:

Racing C1 four miles men’s senior 50-plus: first place, Jeff Owen in a time of 48 minutes, 13 seconds.

Recreational C1 four miles men’s senior 50-plus: first, Bob Miller 1 hour, 21 minutes, 32 seconds.

Racing K1 eight miles men’s senior 50-plus: first, Dan Baumert 1:39.34.

Recreational C2 four miles men’s adult 19-39: first, Brian Mailhot and Shaun Durfee 1:12.14.

Recreational K1 two miles women’s senior 50-plus: first, Audrey Carter 41:12; and second, Sandy Fessenden 51:12.

Recreational K1 two miles women’s adult 19-39: first, Lindsey Bushway 49:42.

Recreational K1 two miles men’s senior 50-plus: first, John Carter 39:18.

Recreational K1 two miles men’s junior 18 and under: first, Russel Lamarre 40:55.

Recreational C3 two miles mixed junior/senior 18 and under: first, John Latanzi, Noel Latanzi and Camilla Latanzi 42:16.

Recreational K2 two miles mixed 18 and under: first, Peter Latanzi and Pearl Latanzi 38:50.

Recreational C4 two miles men’s junior/senior 18 and under: first: Paul Latanzi, Zack Latanzi, Stephen Latanzi and William Latanzi 44:29.

Recreational K2 two miles women’s master 40-plus: first, Dina Latanzi and Karen Latanzi 49:38.

Recreational C2 two miles women’s adult 19-39: first, Michele Cole and Maggie Cole 52:40.

JULY 4 CANOE RACE — Paddlers making up 14 kayaks and canoes start to move across Sebec Lake, starting by the bridge in Sebec Village, during the annual Fourth of July festivities. The entrants competed in 13 different racing and recreational classes at either two, four, or eight miles.
