Chamber ribbon cutting welcomes florist to Dover-Foxcroft

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Following nearly eight years operating in Parkman and another eight years prior in Florida, the full-service floral establishment Chloe’s Collections has a new home at 1 North Street near the intersection with Lincoln Street. Owner Joy Gregory was formally welcomed to the community with a Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony and Business After Hours event on the evening of June 1.

“I personally have to say I am so excited to have Joy here,” Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Denise Buzzelli said as the attendees gathered outside of Chloe’s Collections. Buzzelli said she had visited Gregory previously when the business was based in Parkman and at the time the executive director wished more of the region knew about Gregory.

“I was so taken with her ability to make everything look so beautiful,” Buzzelli said of Gregory’s talents. Buzzelli said the new location in the heart of Dover-Foxcroft will provide for much greater visibility for Chloe’s Collections. The business is named after Gregory’s eldest grandchild, who was born shortly before Gregory opened her first location in Florida in 2001.

Buzzelli then read aloud a letter to Gregory from U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine, congratulating her on the new home of her business.

“I am happy and excited to join the Dover-Foxcroft business family,” Gregory said. She said she wanted to thank everyone who has helped her leading up to and since the opening just before Mother’s Day. Gregory said the welcome she has received has been heartwarming.

“After 15 years as a florist, my mantra is availability, affordability and quality are guaranteed,” Gregory said.

With her grandchildren Sabrina and Edward Hamele holding the ceremonial ribbon, Gregory snipped the fabric to a round of applause.
